The Science Behind the Magic...
"I don't get this...how in the world can you effect a change in my family member when
you are so far away?" "You're not even touching them!" "How is this even possible?!"
I felt much the same way when I was learning to do this way back then. It was fascinating to me! And being a diehard scientist as a young adult, I wanted to know how it was done. The answer lies with Quantum Physics.
Science tells us if we peer into an atom there are neutrons, protons in the nucleus and a shell of orbiting electrons surrounding them, but the bulk of an atom is the space or energy in the middle. Everything is built of these building blocks, people, trees, rocks, etc. We all have the same spaces. It's very much like the Force in Star Wars. It can be manipulated, and quantum physics shows time and space don't matter much when it comes to the energy.
Science has also shown people can manipulate the energy. It's the reason double blind studies are done. Scientists will often have a natural bias, so when they run the experiments, they keep hidden anything that might cause the scientists to root for a certain outcome. Under the microscope, they can influence molecules the same way. If the scientist thinks it will travel in a circle, the molecule will move in a circle. It's crazy, but it's all there and they've known about the scientists' affect for quite awhile.
The short answer of course is 'magic'.
